SONG OF SOLOMON 77:1 How beautiful are your feet in sandals,O noble daughter!Your rounded thighs are like jewels, the work of a master hand. 2 Your navel is a rounded bowlthat never lacks mixed wine.Your belly is a heap of wheat, encircled with lilies. 3 Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle. 4 Your neck is like an ivory tower.Your eyes are pools in Heshbon,by the gate of Bath-rabbim.Your nose is like a tower of Lebanon, which looks toward Damascus. 5 Your head crowns you like Carmel, and your flowing locks are like purple;a king is held captive in the tresses.
SONG OF SOLOMON 8Longing for Her Beloved8:1 Oh that you were like a brother to mewho nursed at my mother’s breasts! If I found you outside, I would kiss you,and none would despise me. 2 I would lead you and bring youinto the house of my mother—she who used to teach me.I would give you spiced wine to drink, the juice of my pomegranate. 3 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me! 4 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you not stir up or awaken loveuntil it pleases.
PROVERBS 4A Father’s Wise Instruction4:1 Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, 2 for I give you good precepts;do not forsake my teaching. 3 When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother, 4 he taught me and said to me,“Let your heart hold fast my words;keep my commandments, and live. 5 Get wisdom; get insight;do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you;love her, and she will guard you. 7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. 8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;she will honor you if you embrace her. 9 She will place on your head a graceful garland;she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”
2 TIMOTHY 3Godlessness in the Last Days 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God10 You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
