Judgment on Israel’s Enemies9:1 The oracle of the word of the Lord is against the land of Hadrachand Damascus is its resting place. For the Lord has an eye on mankindand on all the tribes of Israel,
2 and on Hamath also, which borders on it,Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.
3 Tyre has built herself a rampartand heaped up silver like dust, and fine gold like the mud of the streets.
4 But behold, the Lord will strip her of her possessionsand strike down her power on the sea,and she shall be devoured by fire.
5 Ashkelon shall see it, and be afraid;Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish;Ekron also, because its hopes are confounded.The king shall perish from Gaza;Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;
6 a mixed people shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of Philistia.
7 I will take away its blood from its mouth, and its abominations from between its teeth;it too shall be a remnant for our God;it shall be like a clan in Judah, and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites.
8 Then I will encamp at my house as a guard,so that none shall march to and fro;no oppressor shall again march over them, for now I see with my own eyes.
The Coming King of Zion9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!Behold, your king is coming to you;righteous and having salvation is he,humble and mounted on a donkey,on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraimand the war horse from Jerusalem;and the battle bow shall be cut off,and he shall speak peace to the nations;his rule shall be from sea to sea,and from the River to the ends of the earth.
11 As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you,I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope;today I declare that I will restore to you double.
13 For I have bent Judah as my bow;I have made Ephraim its arrow.I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and wield you like a warrior’s sword.
The Lord Will Save His People14 Then the Lord will appear over them, and his arrow will go forth like lightning;the Lord God will sound the trumpetand will march forth in the whirlwinds of the south.
15 The Lord of hosts will protect them, and they shall devour, and tread down the sling stones, and they shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine, and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.
16 On that day the Lord their God will save them,as the flock of his people;for like the jewels of a crownthey shall shine on his land.
17 For how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty!Grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the young women.

The Restoration for Judah and Israel10:1 Ask rain from the Lordin the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain,to everyone the vegetation in the field.
2 For the household gods utter nonsense, and the diviners see lies;they tell false dreamsand give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep;they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.
3 “My anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders;for the Lord of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them like his majestic steed in battle.
4 From him shall come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler—all of them together.
5 They shall be like mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets;they shall fight because the Lord is with them, and they shall put to shame the riders on horses.
6 “I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph.I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.
7 Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine.Their children shall see it and be glad;their hearts shall rejoice in the Lord.
8 “I will whistle for them and gather them in,for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as many as they were before.
9 Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me,and with their children they shall live and return.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria, and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them.
11 He shall pass through the sea of troublesand strike down the waves of the sea,and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up.The pride of Assyria shall be laid low,and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 I will make them strong in the Lord, and they shall walk in his name,”declares the Lord.

26:1 Like snow in summer or rain in harvest,so honor is not fitting for a fool.
2 Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying,a curse that is causeless does not alight.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
6 Whoever sends a message by the hand of a foolcuts off his own feet and drinks violence.
7 Like a lame man’s legs, which hang useless,is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
8 Like one who binds the stone in the slingis one who gives honor to a fool.
9 Like a thorn that goes up into the hand of a drunkardis a proverb in the mouth of fools.
10 Like an archer who wounds everyoneis one who hires a passing fool or drunkard.
11 Like a dog that returns to his vomitis a fool who repeats his folly.
12 Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!”
14 As a door turns on its hinges,so does a sluggard on his bed.
15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish;it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyesthan seven men who can answer sensibly.
17 Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his ownis like one who takes a passing dog by the ears.
18 Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death
19 is the man who deceives his neighborand says, “I am only joking!”
20 For lack of wood the fire goes out,and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.
21 As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire,so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.
22 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;they go down into the inner parts of the body.
23 Like the glaze covering an earthen vesselare fervent lips with an evil heart.
24 Whoever hates disguises himself with his lipsand harbors deceit in his heart;
25 when he speaks graciously, believe him not,for there are seven abominations in his heart;
26 though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.
28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

The Thousand Years 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.
2 And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,
3 and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
The Defeat of Satan7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison
8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.
9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them,
10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Judgment Before the Great White Throne11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
